For me it's just holding in one hand while sharpening knife with other. I would like a fatter handle to grasp personally so I don't feel as afraid I might drop.

However, the plastic handles felt a little unsecure and I was afraid I was going to snap them off.

In order to sharpen serrated knives, each individual serration must be sharpened by the stylus. While the diamond stylus may be superior in sharpening versus a drag through sharpener, it will take a lot longer to sharpen each serration. The directions were not clear as to how many individual strokes of the sharpener would be required. This is a very time consuming tool.

This sharpener only has a fine grit, for finer and less rough work on blades- this may not be a great first option for damaged or particularly dull blades that needs a coarser grit.

I have used it in the field to sharpen a chainsaw blade and the serrated portion of my pocket-knife. It is available with different diameter diamond rods and different grits depending on whether you need fine, medium or coarse sharpening.

The coarse side prepares the blade really nicely with a good clean edge. The fine side hones it well with a nice fine edge. The sharpness is good enough for most cutting chores. It will take some practice to maintain the correct angle consistently. That’s part of the fun. It’s also light and compact to be carried around without noticing you even have it.

It is portable and lightweight for taking along on camping, hunting, etc. The sharpener has a very sharp point and should only be used by adults. It gets the serrated areas and divots extremely sharp. You cannot use a regular knife sharpener for serrations and get into the crevices like this tool can. Highly recommend this product.

Grit area changes along the rod are small and leave little room for filling motion. I found it to have the potential to damage the blade for the above reasons
