Monopoly App Banking Board Game

This game is very interactive which makes it more fun! I also love how the playing pieces are metal and not plastic.. They will last a lot longer than if they were plastic!!

While this version does allow for shorter games and the mini-games are fun, it has kids doing no math and takes SO LONG to scan all the cards you need to for a typical turn… …scan for Pass Go (if you forget there’s no back button) then scan the “debit” card to receive your $200. After an animation you continue your turn. Then scan a property and scan the debit card again to purchase the property. Finally, after another long animation it’s the next person’s turn. Sure, my 9 year old loves using our old phone for the app, but this game drags on each turn. Last night we played and the app glitched! While it made each turn much faster without the app, it also meant all the math had to be done on paper. While it was doable, it took even more time, especially when calculating a winner.

I think having the actual money and real estate to purchase is apart of the fun! However, that may just be nostalgic to me since it is what I’m used to in my years of playing monopoly. This game is very easy for young players which is nice! My four year old was even able to play with very little assistance. The new game has fun animations and character pawns which make it more engaging to a younger age group. Also, the elimination of physically counting money or dispersing properties makes it go a lot faster. Overall I think this is a fun new way to enjoy monopoly and we will incorporate it into many more game nights to come.

Our younger kiddos have really enjoyed having the independence to play on their own using the user-friendly app that walks them through the game. The game goes a little quicker than the original Monopoly and has slight tweaks to the rules which we’ve enjoyed. Taking one star off because we’ve had a few instances of the app being glitchy and inserting random players mid-game and, thus, ending their game. Otherwise, we love it!

The electronic banking makes everything faster and easier—no more counting cash or losing money pieces. My son liked scanning the cards and watching his balance change on the screen. It creates a seamless experience, allowing players to focus on strategy and fun rather than getting bogged down in finances, and remember who has what! The virtual bank even allows for quick transactions, so if someone lands on your property, they can pay you instantly with just a tap. This makes the game flow much smoother, and kids can easily grasp the concept of buying and trading properties without the confusion of physical money. Plus, the graphics and animations are delightful, keeping everyone engaged. The sounds and alerts add an extra layer of excitement, especially when someone lands on a property and the cash changes hands. I used to avoid Monopoly because it could drag on forever and the money would get so messy, but with the cards and the little banking unit, the game goes way quicker and is actually fun to play now. The kids thought using “credit cards” was super cool, and I loved not having to play banker the whole time. It keeps the game moving and there’s no arguing over counting money or making change. Setup was simple and everything worked like it was supposed to. Definitely recommend this version if you want a more modern, streamlined Monopoly night.

I was kind of sad at first, it's just something about the paper money haha. But the app was super easy to download. Really easy to add players. The kids' favorite part is adding a selfies to match their bank cards. They kids also like having their "debit cards" the QR codes make it very easy, it's really hard to mess up playing this game. Overall it is cute! worth the buy!
