submitted byChris B - 10 months agoA: On average, the kettle will be triggered to reboil the water once it has cooled 15 degrees below the temperature it was set to. For the higher boiling temperatures (ex: 212°F – Black Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 190°F to re-boil the water. For the lower heating temperatures (ex: 175°F – Green Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 160°F and bring the temperature back to 175°F.

A: Yes. The rim is plastic, as is the spout , the inside of the lid and the mesh that the water flows through.

This was exactly what I was looking for in a kettle! I wanted a glass reservoir, which this has, but I also like the features that I thought I didn't need. The changing colors to tell you know when the water is heating, done, or on hold is quite handy. I do like the touch temperature control as well, plus it has a boiling temperature. The tea insert is new for me and I haven't tried it yet, but it looks handy. All in all I'm very pleased with this kettle.
