Q: How much sand is needed to fill it?

A: We used two 50 pound play sandbags from Lowe’s and filled it up the perfect amount! You could probably add a third but we did it when it overfill it

🐢 Now that my Grown Babies are talking about having Babies, I'm going down Memory Lane & want to finally share what Little Tikes is to me: DURABILITY! When we lived in NC & Hurricane Fran came through town, one of our backyard Loblolly Pine Trees fell across our Turtle Sandbox-- its weight buckled the Shell Cover. After Emergency Disaster Crew removed the fallen tree, Turtle's Shell literally popped back into its original shape! Not only were my Children able to happily play & return to a sense of normalcy during this time of chaos-- Turtle's Resilience was a symbol of Hope & Strength for me. Thank you-- looking forward to getting another one for my Grandchildren! ♡Gramma Jen

Just purchased and already can see the plastic breaking. Very flimsy hard to put together and I bet just like the other reviews say it wont keep the dry sand. Debating about returning already because this is dollar store quality. Definitely don’t recommend

Extremely disappointed in the quality of the new multi-piece design. This was a fabulous sandbox / pool and because of the new design, it no longer holds water. This one did not need a design upgrade. Bring back the old, lasting Little Tikes toys.

How did this make it to production??? I am immediately returning. No matter how much you wrestle with the pieces they will pop back out. I can already picture the mess this would make had I put sand in it. Not to mention the BUGS.

I am not happy about this sandbox. I was so excited to buy one for my granddaughter for her 3rd birthday! To start, it was not easy to assemble! It’s very flimsy and falls apart if one thing gets out of place. We’ve had it for one month and had to remove the sand because ants came in through the bottom. While doing this and moving it, it fell apart! I did not look at other brands because Little Tikes has always had good products. We had one for years when our son was a child and never had these issues! I don’t know why you would lower the quality of this product. Our grand daughter looks forward to playing in her sandbox, so I will probably have to buy a better one before long!

If I could give it a zero I would :/ The parts do not align correctly and a big hazard for littles to get pinched, sand to leak, or bugs to get in. Returned immediately and very disappointed

This is not the turtle sandbox that I had when I was a kid. It comes in many pieces--the top is four pieces and the bottom is four pieces. It's very flimsy and difficult to snap together. The one that I purchased would not line up properly and I'm not sure I would trust it to stay assembled even if I did get it put together

This is NOT the little tikes turtle sandbox my kids had when they were little which was durable and only two pieces, the base and the lid. This thing has to be assembled. It's not easy and it's very flimsy. It's also much smaller looking than I recall the original one being. Really not worth the money.

The sandbox was relatively easy to put together. The one issue was that the bottom would not stay together. The prongs that snap in are not long enough to firmly lock the bottom pieces in place. I used a mallet to hammer the prongs but it did not work. Only some of the prongs stayed in. I finally gave up and filled it with sand. Somewhat disappointed in the product.

DO NOT BUY! Purchased this thinking it was like the turtle sandboxes we had as kids. I was wrong. The turtle comes in 4 pieces that no matter how many tries you give at it and no matter how you put it together don't fit or continuously pop out. The lid is also in 4 pieces which I didn't even get to assembling before packing up the sandbox to return it. Spent over an hour trying to get the sandbox pieces together and even got it pretty close before all the snaps started to come open again. What happened to one piece sandboxes? This is not a good new design. Would not recommend.

I bought for daughter a couple of months ago to replace the one we lost in the flood. I'm not impressed with the new design. Turtle comes in pieces now instead of top and bottom piece. Sand Turtle leaks every time it rains. My daughter hasn't be able to play in it since we got it because the sand is always wet. Why did Little Tikes change the design? Why change to worse when the original sand turtle was perfect????

The size is great for kids and the turtle is nostalgic but assembly is not as easy at it would seem to be. It is more complicated when it doesn't look to be that complicated. But at the end of the day it's a great sand box!
