Elementary teacher here, and these are the only pencils that I use now, especially when I’m using the document camera to model writing. The grip is great and they last a long time because the thick lead rarely breaks. They do smudge, but the pros overshadow that con for me.

I got these for myself. I tend to press hard when writing and frequently break the lead with thinner lead. This is more durable for me and the thicker barrel forces me to reduce my grip lessening hand fatigue.

My kid used to think he was supposed to carve through the paper and onto the desk while he writes. He can't be sharpening his pencils all day so this helped. I know these are intended for younger kids that are learning to write but I wish they made these with the thinner lead too. I think the pencil itself is comfortable to use and easier on adult hands because it's like a wide pencil. I'm not as in love with the larger lead HB size because then it forces me to write bigger. I use a lot of post it notes all other small paper notes so it feels like I'm using up too much of the paper real estate.
