I feel like it helps him with his logic reasoning skills. The game itself is sturdy having a nice quality board and pieces that couldn’t bend or be ruined easily by smaller children. It trains my kids to think critically and learns how to predict what will happen next. It is very good quality and comes with a velvety board with small drawers to put the the two sided discs which makes it perfect for travel. Even it says for two players we have formed two teams to make the kids to play together.

This is an easy game to learn to play, it literally only takes a few minutes to read the entire instructions booklet and learn game play. The game itself is simple, be the player with the most pieces of your color on the board at the end of game to win. It is fun and challenging as it does take some strategy to beat your opponent. Game is made for 2 players, ages 8 years and up. This is a regular edition copy that looks more like a special edition copy, the board is felt covered and the pieces are a thick, durable plastic that neatly fit into retractable drawers on the sides of game board, it is very deluxe in appearance which my family appreciates! A great game for the money and fun for game nights, plus it doesn’t take hours to play. I definitely recommend Othello!

They have the slots slide in to keep the pieces when storing which is nice. My 5 year old was starting to get the game and liked it.

We never played Othello before so this was something new and definitely a different game compared to checkers or chess. The game is simple yet complex and full of depth. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, we’ve been playing this every single night since I got here. I remember Othello from my childhood -and this is a staple game. I really appreciate how it has little grooves between each space as I have an eight-year-old who likes to play as well and I don’t have to worry about her bumping the pieces out of place. Also life happens if it ever got bumped on the flat board style used it used to just get spread everywhere. This is fantastic and it has a very nice felt like finish on the game board and so easy to just jump in and play. Great beginner or family game idea or take on the go, also amazingly challenging for those who get really good at it too!
