Joie Ginger and Rue Travel System

First I would like to say this travel system is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It’s definitely gives Nuna vibes. However the functionality of the car seat and stroller is lacking. I recently had my third baby and it’s been 7 years since my last child so I knew a lot had chanced. I typically always bought Graco products but I wanted to choose something different this time. I spent months of researching and watching TikTok videos and this travel system received so much praise. But honestly the cons have made me regret my purchase. For the pros, the stroller rides really smooth. The car seat releases easily out of the car seat base. Which has been an issue for me with other car seats. The car seat is also lightweight. But the cons had me stressed to the max. My baby was 6 pounds at birth and never looked comfortable in the seat. For some reason he always looked slouched which had me concerned about his airways. He’s now 2 months old and it has improved slightly. Next con is the canopy does not shade my baby from the sun. In the car, he cries when the sun gets in his face. This is also a problem when the car seat is connected to the stroller. Every time we are outside, the sun is in his face and he can barely open his eyes. One of the cons for the stroller is the car seat is hard to click in. There are special attachments for the car seat to click into the stroller and you have to do it just right. The first time I tried, I didn’t click it in just right and the car seat got stuck. I was in a panic by myself with the baby struggling in a parking lot to get the car seat to unlatch. This was super stressful. Also folding and opening the stroller hasn’t been fun either. Sometimes it was easy and other times it was a nightmare. I will say with lots of practice, it’s finally getting better after 2 months. But I don’t feel like it should take all of that. Also, I don’t feel like the stroller will properly grow with my child into his toddler years. The bassinet attachment that comes with it converts into an upright seat but it seems like it wouldn’t hold a toddler for long especially in length. In conclusion, I really regret my purchase. This is my last baby and I feel like the travel system is lacking. These new travel systems are just more complicated than needed. For a first time mom who never experience a nice basic sturdy travel system like they made 7 and 10 years ago , then maybe this system isn’t too bad. It’s pretty and affordable. But for me I wish I would have stuck with my tried and true brand Graco or maybe gone with a Chico this time. I suggest trying a brand like that or maybe a car seat that converts to a stroller. Don’t let social media influence you only. Sometimes a basic travel system is all you need. I really wanted to like this system. But you live and you learn.

I really wanted to love this item! It’s so perfect! My only issue is the chemical smell!

We've been using this travel system since July and are pretty happy with the quality and value so far! The car seat is lightweight on its own and was easy to install. I like having the ability to click it into the frame for quick errands. As far as the stroller goes, having a lay flat mode was important for me, so we've been strolling in pramette mode since birth. Overall pros: easy to assemble, good quality, love the sturdy wheels and maneuverability, our diaper backpack fits easily on the bottom, very good break system! Cons: I wish the canopy was longer on both car seat and stroller, stroller is only folding in a specific setting (not from pramette mode) so it can be annoying to fold it, I'm taking the pramette off and fold the base at the moment, and I wish there was more padding for the pramette mode (I've added some layers for extra comfort). Overall it's a great product price/value wise.

Really wanted to like it but the way that the car seat detaches from the stroller is so annoying and impractical. The stroller practically falls every time you fold it or you risk your fingers getting squished if you hold it as it folds down.

Love how easy it is to assemble and put in & out of the car!

I would have given it 5 stars but we noticed our stroller was missing the adapter to attach the car seat to the stroller.

I purchased this stroller and car seat bundle for my first child, and after three months of use, I have mixed feelings. The stroller is good — it moves smoothly and has thoughtful features like the adjustable handlebar. However, the infant car seat has been disappointing. The canopy is too short to effectively block the sun from my baby’s face, making strolls uncomfortable for her. It’s frustrating that such a basic and essential feature falls short — literally. Looking back, I wish I had chosen a bundle with a different infant carrier.

My baby looks uncomfortable and the bar is too low to place any hanging toys. Wish I could return and get him a well known brand stroller. Moves out of place just not the best stroller in town

This is for my first Grandchild-a boy! Easy to assemble, good quality!

I love this set but now that I have had it in use for a few months I do wish I just went with the joie ginger and mint. First folding isn't difficult but can be annoying. The canopy on the carseat is useless. The bassinet itself has a terrible canopy and is very wobbly. Now in stroller mode it's fabulous. Comfortable for my little and the canopy actually blocks the sun more. Still have to take it apart and forward face the bassinet to fold it down. If you are looking to be happy long term I'd go with the ginger and mint!

I love how light weight it is and the car seat is also very light compared to most I don't have any complaints

I purchased this stroller system for my third baby. I was super excited to research and pick something different from what I had with my other two but I’m slightly disappointed. We used the graco click connect with my other two and even though looks wise it wasn’t as trendy I wish I had stuck with that. The Joei one is super cute but doesn’t click as easily into the stroller as my graco one did. I just feel like overall graco has a better click connect system that doesn’t need additional pieces that seem flimsy

Car seat canopy doesn’t cover baby from sun and always pulls back down. The car seat on the stroller is to sunkenh in. The bassinet seat won’t let baby sit right unless I put some kind of support on his tush if not baby will be hanging with straps almost giving him a wendgy with those straps. Super uncomfortable?! If I can return this I would in a heart beat. Two months in and I hate it.

More cons than pros. Pros: adjustable handle bar and seat height great quality car seat Rides very smooth large tires and all terrain Cons: very big when folded with the seat not a one handed fold does not stand while folded canopy is very short on both carseat and stroller does not feel very sturdy, very wiggly I got it shipped and the box was damaged and the stroller had some scratches im not sure if that affected the sturdiness and standing fold but either way it’s not what I thought it would be.

Love how light the car seat it’s self is and the stroller is very easy to assemble it’s comes assembled already you just have to add the wheels yourself and a few other little parts and it drives very smoothly I’m glad. Only thing I don’t really like about the car seat is I wish the shade thing was a little bit longer to cover more of baby’s face but besides that overall I really like this set I purchased

A total NUNA dupe! The color, style and all is perfect. The folded stroller is a little have as a smaller human but that really isn’t a big deal. My husband is also 6’2 and the adjustable stroller bar is perfect for him. The quality is amazing and my son loves it! great for Disney trips too! he can sit or lay in to convertible stroller/bassinet. Highly recommend!
